About Casa Christa
Newly refurbished and family-friendly, the colorful Casa Christa is full of unusual details crafted by local artisans.
Located in the northeast part of Centro, just a level, 10-minute walk from the Jardin, this lovely home has fine furnishings, an impressive collection of local paintings and folkart, and all of the modern-day comforts.
With 4 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, Casa Christa is available for rental in two price tiers for 1-4 people, or for 5-8 people. Well-behaved children are welcome, although parents should note that the bedrooms are on different levels, so this might not be suitable for younger kids.
The master bedroom has a king bed, but the other three bedrooms can either be made up with two twins each, or the twin beds can be combined to create more king beds. All of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, sitting areas and fireplaces.
In addition, the family room/home theater has a futon sofa that can serve as an extra single bed; this room also has its own bathroom.
The master bedroom has a TV, and the home theater has a larger screen connected to the cable TV service with U.S. channels.
From the street, you enter the house down an arched corridor that leads past the garage (renters may use this for parking, but it will only hold cars up to the size of a small SUV; it's not very deep) into a charming central patio with fountain. From this landscaped open space, you can go up an exterior stairway to one bedroom built over the garage, or continue on into the main living area of the house.
The comfortable living room features custom furniture, a corner bar for mixing your afternoon margaritas and a large carved stone fireplace. This room opens into the formal dining room with its chandelier and hand-carved table with seating for up to 10.
Off the dining room is the beautifully tiled kitchen, complete with gas stove, pantry, dishwasher and all the kitchen items one needs for cooking. The water in the kitchen, as throughout the house, is purified and safe to drink from the tap.
The second bedroom, also on the second floor, is reached from a staircase near the kitchen.
Beyond the dining room is another patio and fountain, plus a covered terrace that fronts the ground-level master bedroom.
Another exterior staircase from this patio leads up to the third bedroom on the second floor and also up to the family room/home theater on the third floor. Each of these rooms has a little outside terrace for enjoying more of the indoor/outdoor living that is so special in San Miguel. The terrace off the family room/home theater also features a hot tub.
There are wall jacks throughout the house for connecting your own laptop, and the house is also set up for wireless Internet connection (but some locations may not receive it through the thick stone walls).
Casa Christa also offers a Vonage Internet phone line for guests to use for free phone calls back to the U.S. and Canada.
The maid comes 3x weekly for rentals of 1-4 people, and 5x weekly for larger groups. She cleans and does laundry, but does not cook. However, arrangements can be made to bring in a cook for breakfast, mid-day comida or for a special evening meal. This extra cook service would be at the renter's expense, based on a per-hour rate for the cook, plus cab fare home after dark if she's working in the evening.

$2500/week and $9000/month for 5-8 people using 3-4 bedrooms
